GENMA ANNOUNCE HARD HITTING DEBUT SINGLE 'HOW BAD' : A MESSAGE OF RESILIENCE

Dublin alt-rock outfit, GENMA are thrilled to announce the release of their hard hitting anthem titled 'How Bad' due to land on streaming platforms on June 16th 2023

The verses of the song create a sense of space and anticipation, building towards the explosive prechorus, with its aggressive guitar riffs and driving rhythm, epitomising this rising tension embedded in the psyche of frontman Rhys O' Sullivan, as he laments about being forced to accept the uncertain future ahead of him in the post-pandemic landscape. The explosive wall of sound, wailing guitar lines and vocal melodies in the chorus make for an emotional climax that serves as a truly authentic display of the bands determination to "take it all in stride" in spite of the harshest of circumstances presented before them.

'How Bad' holds nothing back when exploring the feelings of uncertainty and existentialism experienced by the band in the post-pandemic landscape. The band had the following to say about the song:

"'How Bad' is a song that's very close to my heart, and I think it will resonate with a lot of people. It's about the uncertainty and anxiety that so many of us are feeling in the wake of the pandemic, but it's also about finding the strength to push through and take control of our own destinies. The song has a lot of energy and raw emotion, and I can't wait for people to hear it."  Rhys O' Sullivan - Vocals/Guitar

"For us, 'How Bad' is about taking control of our own destinies and not letting fear or uncertainty hold us back. We hope this song will inspire others to think of that one thing they've always wanted to do. The one thing that they've been holding themselves back from doing, and to just do it. Afterall, How bad could the outcome possibly be?" Matthew Kettle - Guitar

"'How Bad' is a real statement for us as a band. We wanted to capture the intensity and rawness of our live performances and translate that into a studio recording. I think we achieved something really special with this track, and I'm excited to see where it takes us."  Conor Horgan - Bass

"In my opinion, the song perfectly captures the sense of aggression and uncertainty that we've all been feeling in the aftermath of the pandemic, I hope that people will resonate with these feelings, and that they'll be able to feel the same sense of release and catharsis that we did when we were recording it." Grim Nordahl - Drums
